The morning starts like most mornings here at kamp, the kitichies and maintenance up early getting ready for the day.
During our last K-Life, our director, Shay Robbins, gave a phenomenal talk on how God is the light of the world. Shay opened up with an illustration from his own life about a time when he took his daughter, Lulu, hunting and she had to follow Shay’s words closely. He used this story to illustrate John 14:6 where Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” He talked about how just like Lulu, we are to listen to Jesus’s voice because he is the way and the truth. The next thing Shay did was have everyone sit up with their hands in their laps as he turned off the lights in the entire room. He talked about how in John 8:12 Jesus says that he is “The light of the world. Who ever follows will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” He told the Kampers about how dark the world can be and how hard it can be when you’re surrounded in darkness, but he then lit a candle and told them how much better the world is with light where you can see things clearly. He finished by talking about how Jesus is always calling us home on that path which is illuminated through His light. Overall, it was a great K-Life full of fun and learning. We love the opportunity to preach to our Kampers about God’s word.
