K-2 K-Life: God is with us, for us, and in us 2016

Our K-Life speaker last night was from the K-Life Director himself, Don Ford.  Don started by reminding us of three truths, God is for us, God is with us, and God is in us.

What does it mean that God is for us?  Romans 8:31 says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?”  Therefore, no matter what we are going through, no matter the tests and trials, no matter what or who is against us, all that matters is that God is with us and for us.  Romans 8:37-39 goes on to say, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, not things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  God is on our team.  He is standing at the finish line, cheering us on, and constantly for us. How cool!

God’s body is with us despite our shortcomings, failures, and sin.  Even when we say “I’m not _____ enough,” God is with us.  God is on our team therefore we can never lose.  God wins and Satan loses.  Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you ALWAYS, even to the end of the age.”  He says that he is with us always

God is also in us! He is dwelling inside our hearts by his Spirit.  Colossians 1:27 says, “To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ IN you, the hope of glory.” Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and game Himself for me.”  Lastly, Ephesians 5:14 says, “For this reason it says, awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”  The truth that God is with us, for us, and in us should wake us up!  God loves us because He loves us because He loves.  That is who He is.
