We did it! All five terms at K-West have come and gone. Summer 2016 has been put to rest at Kanakuk K-West.
At Kanakuk, we are counting down the days until summer! As the weather warms and the days get longer, our excitement for Kamp grows. We can hardly wait for the moment we get to welcome our first Kampers through our gates!
While we love preparing for summers at Kanakuk, we’ve found that it’s easy to get caught up in the anticipation of Kamp. We constantly look forward, and it becomes nearly impossible to be fully engaged and present with what’s right in front of us. When this happens, gratitude is hindered and relationships can suffer. So, how do we make sure that, in the midst of the craziness of our countdown to Kamp, we’re making the best use of our time right now?
Ephesians 5:15-16a urges us: “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time…”
As followers of Christ, we are called to be good stewards of our time. That means instead of spending our days in anticipation for what’s ahead, we are thanking God for the blessing of today.
To do this, try to start each day by asking, “God, what are you doing today, and how can I be a part of it?” God wants to include us in His daily plans, and all we have to do is accept His invitation. Every moment is filled with potential to bring His Kingdom to Earth!
We are praying for all of our Kampers and Kamp families as you are preparing for Kamp! Keep up with daily Kanakuk udpates and encouragement on <Twitter> and <Facebook>!
