We’ve all heard the expression “April showers bring May flowers.” Often, there’s hidden truth to common sayings like these. Right now, it may seem like we are stuck in an “April shower,” a time of disappointment or confusion, while we patiently wait for “May flowers” to bloom and produce a sense of hope and refreshment.
There are many things that make Kamp an amazing home away from home! One thing in particular that we love about Kamp is the opportunity it gives us to take a break and step away from our normal routine. While we’re at Kamp, God’s truths become even more evidently clear, especially when we get the chance to worship God freely during KLIFE.
So, what happens outside of Kamp when life gets busy and “noisy” at home? When we don’t have as much dedicated time for quiet and stillness?
Busy schedules, opinions of our peers and even the presence of social media around us can make it difficult to ignore the noise and hear only what’s true.
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Jesus invites us to be students of His word, and he promises that knowing His truth will set us free! One of our favorite ways to memorize and know truth is through music. Listening to truth regularly drowns out the noise around us and reminds us of who God really is—and who we are because of Him.
What’s the best way to make your worship playlist? We’ve set up the steps and suggestions to keep you truth-filled and feeling free all year long.
Step 1: Create a worship playlist
Add a creative title
If you’re using Spotify, you can even add a picture to the playlist!
Step 2: Pick a theme—or several!
(Some songs for inspiration...)
I Will Trust You - Bryan & Katie Torwalt
Trust in You - Lauren Daigle
Nothing I Hold Onto - Will Reagan
Praising Him in Your Everyday
Resurrection Day - Rend Collective
Great is the Lord - Housefires
This is Living - Hillsong Young & Free

Step 3: Discover new music!
Check out the Browse section of Spotify. You’ll find a variety of fun playlists under the Christian category!
Ask your friends or counselors for their favorite worship songs and discover new music that will encourage you.
Follow your friends on Spotify to see what they’re listening to, and follow other worship artists to stay in the know on new releases.
Step 4: Now: Share, Worship, Pray, Rest!
As you listen to your playlist, take a moment with the Lord to listen, consider the words, and apply them to your own life. You can share your worship playlist with your friends on your Instagram story. You never know which of your friends may need the encouragement they can find in music that you are also enjoying!
Worship playlists are perfect for your daily commute, your morning routine or your study sessions. This is one of many practical steps to experience God in our daily lives and invite Him in. He wants to be a part of our everyday life when we’re not at Kamp, even when it may not seem as easy as attending KLIFE. His love can be experienced through many outlets, but worship is one of the most powerful and impactful.
Happy playlist-ing, Kanakuk family!
