K-Seven | Overnight Summer Camps, Christian Summer Camps, Youth Camps

At Kanakuk’s K-Seven, non-stop action from morning to night helps Kampers make the most of the greatest week on earth. Your child will experience an action-packed sampling of all that Kanakuk has to offer and grow in knowledge that will impact them for a lifetime!

K-Seven is an overnight summer camp for kids ages 12-18 that combines the non-stop action of a sports camp with opportunities to worship and get closer to God with new friends from all over the country. Guided in their week-long journey at Kanakuk by hand-selected Christian college athletes, your child will get to fly down ziplines, practice their swing in our batting cages, go down water slides, climb up our climbing wall, and more--each day's events ring with the message that each life has a purpose.

Also at K-Seven Kampers age 16 - 18 have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic faith-training program called Mi:7. This program emphasizes servant-leadership and Christian worldview training, and focuses on preparing these Kampers  to be servant leaders in their high school and in college. You can learn more about Mi:7 here.

Is a trunk a requirement? Where do I buy one?

Yes. However, they must turn in their keys at the Kamp office upon arrival. Keys will not be returned until the last day of Kamp.

Can I bring mail/packages for each day at the beginning of the term?

Yes! Our office girls are glad to deliver your daily mail/packages to your Kamper. Label each item with the date that you want it delivered to your Kamper and bring all of it by the office on opening day. Please do not send gum, candy, or food.

Absolutely! The Kamp store is open during Kamp's closing ceremonies.

We welcome parents to share in their child's arrival during the drop off times during opening day of each term. We would love for you to help your camper get settled in, make their bed and meet their counselors. While my child is at Kamp

If my oldest child is in one tribe, will that affect what tribe my younger child will be in?

The tribe that your older child is in will only dictate what tribe your younger child will be in if they are the same gender. Girl and boy tribes are not linked together in any way.

What are tribes?

Tribes are groups that our Kampers are put in during their time at Kanakuk. They are used for devotionals and competition. Once assigned a tribe, your Kamper will remain in that tribe every year they are a Kamper. There are four total tribes, two for girls and two for boys. The girl tribes are Kiowa and Kickapoo. The boy tribes are Cherokee and Choctaw.

Is sporting equipment provided, or do we send our child's personal equipment?

All sporting equipment will be provided for your Kamper. There is no need to send sports equipment. Personal gear can be used, but there is limited storage space and Kanakuk Ministries cannot be held liable for loss or damage to personal sports equipment.

Do boys and girls interact with each other?

There are a few limited co-ed events. These include things like K-Life praise and worship and parties. However, they do not participate in sports together.

What is ok to send to my Kamper in a care package?

Our Kampers love getting fun care packages from home! Things that are OK are items such as card games, coloring books, bracelets, stationary and envelopes. Things that are NOT ok are water ballons, candy, gum, food, drinks and anything perishable.

How many Kampers are in a cabin?

We assign 10-12 Kampers to each cabin by birthdate, and 2-3 counselors are in each cabin.

Do we need to send twin sheets sets with our Kampers?

Yes, please send a twin sheet set with your Kamper.

Parent and Kamper Testimonials
One minute at K-Seven is equivalent to a Christmas and a Birthday put TOGETHER!!!
I like K-Seven because we do not know what time it is. We get up, go through our day and do various activities with the rest of our teepee. We always travel as a unit. It really has a family feel to it, which I love.
We have a deep appreciation for the outstanding job the staff did in welcoming our three boys to your camp. It was their first time for everything: being away from home for an extended period of time, attending a summer camp, and never before have they been treated like KINGS ! They were received with such love and enthusiasm we could tell, at once, they were going to have the time of their lives.
Working at K-Seven was incredible! I got to share the Gospel with kids and encourage them to be the best they could be!

To and From Kanakuk

Opening Ceremonies

When you arrive at K-Seven on Opening Day, you'll be greeted by cheers and smiles everywhere you look! As part of our Kanakuk family, we want you to feel welcomed and honored from the moment you step foot on the kamp grounds. Here are a few things to expect when you arrive:

  • A friendly smile and greeting.
  • We'll immediately check your Kamper into K-Seven electronically and snap a photo of him/her.
  • Mom's and Dads - as soon as your Kamper is checked in, we'll send you an email confirmation - including their snapshot.
  • Each Kamper is individually welcomed to K-Seven and introduced to their cabin and counselors.

Parents are welcome to visit their childs cabin to visit with his/her counselors and help them get settled in. This is a great opportunity to meet and encourage the Godly men and women who will be serving and mentoring your child.

Our Opening Day ceremonies are intentionally designed to be high-energy and exciting. We know that some Kampers - especially our youngest Kampers - can sometimes be tentative about a first time summer camp experience. You should know that we design this day to help keep your child engaged and active (to help combat any hesitations), and that our staff are sensitive to your Kamper and any first day jitters they might be experiencing.

Closing Ceremonies

Cabin Awards

Closing Ceremonies is a “Don’t Want To Miss” Family event!

We invite you to be here for the exciting end to your Kampers term and meet your Kampers counselors and Leadership team.

A few tips from our parents:

  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Bring your camera
  • Stay hydrated

We'll have an exciting time of reuniting and fellowship, and your Kamper will be ready to return home encouraged in their faith, and strengthened in their confidence!
